The VariAnchor™ System incorporates a new sacral attachment method using a “dual screw” saddle design. The addition of the secondary lateral screw creates a “delta” configuration within the sacrum, which greatly enhances sacral fixation. The VariAnchor™ System was designed to achieve maximum sacral attachment stability and strength and reduce the possibility of screw loosening and the resultant breakdown of fusion. The angle of insertion of the VariAnchor™ secondary ala screws can be varied within a nominal range, allowing for maximum flexibility to handle the surgeon’s particular needs for each individual patient.

Additional ala screws reduce the possibility of screw loosening and breakdown of fusion. Variable lateral screw placement allows greater versatility in placing ala screw. Delta configuration created by placing ala screw increases resistance to screw pull out by more than 50%.
